Jul 22, 2010
NEW LONDON, N.C.— Fiberon®, a leading manufacturer of composite and PVC decking, railing and fencing products, has contributed its technologically advanced, sustainable Horizon™ decking product to the Peaceful Valley Tour Home, part of the Eugene Tour of Homes in Lane County of Oregon.
"We appreciate Fiberon’s participation in the sustainable development of our home," said Merle Weiner, owner of Peaceful Valley Tour Home. "Their Horizon decking product, built with their hidden fastener system, adds a layer of beauty that also complements our efforts to gain significant certifications
in sustainability."
The Peaceful Valley Tour Home overlooks Peaceful Valley, offering breathtaking views that complement the planting of 65,000 trees on the property. Currently seeking certifications from Energy Star, Earth Advantage, and LEED, the home’s inclusion of Fiberon Horizon decking promotes LEED points for recycled content and locally available materials where applicable (.5 point each in LEED-H).
"We are pleased to be able to contribute to the annual Tour of Homes with a product that blends natural beauty, cutting-edge technology and the ultimate in low maintenance," said Chris Beyer, vice president of marketing for Fiberon. "With patent pending PermaTech™ innovation, the deck that is now part of the Peaceful Valley Tour Home is designed to last."
From July 24 to August 1, the 2010 Tour of Homes, sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Lane County, will bring approximately 8,000 people through 16 homes.
