New London, NC – August 11, 2008 – This past week, Louisiana Pacific®  (LP) notified Fiber Composites, LLC of its intent to publish a Potential Safety Hazard for decking, railing and accessories manufactured by LP at its Meridian Idaho manufacturing plant. Formal release of this notification occurred August 7, 2008 and included instructions for customers who purchased these products to contact LP for information.

Products involved in this upcoming notification were marketed under the trade names LP WeatherBest® and Veranda® by LP prior to Fiber Composites’ acquisition of the Meridian Idaho manufacturing plant and WeatherBest brand in November 2007.  LP’s announcement noted that only those decking and railing products manufactured from 2005-2007 by LP are the subject of this advisory.  Products manufactured by Fiber Composites under the WeatherBest brand are not included in the product advisory.
