MOBILE, ALABAMA — America’s Home Improvement Expert, Danny Lipford, is pleased to announce Merry Beth Cutler of Exeter, RI, as the winner of the “Elevate Your Exterior” contest sponsored by Today’s Homeowner Media, Therma-Tru Doors, Fypon Decorative Millwork and Fiberon Decking.
The contest drew more than 5,500 entries from across the U.S. As the winner, Cutler will receive a $20,000 exterior makeover including upgrades to her home's deck and entry door, and the addition of decorative millwork. The work will take place at Cutler's home this summer, and all of the projects will be filmed for a special episode of "Today's Homeowner" TV set to air in the fall.
"I'm very excited to be taking the show and my team to Rhode Island to work with Merry Beth at herhome," said Lipford. "This is a new contest for us, and we're eager to make these exterior upgrades and feature them on our national TV show. Often, homeowners focus on interior updates while the exterior gets neglected. We can't wait to show Merry Beth, and our viewers, what a difference this exterior makeover will make!"
Cutler's home has been in her family for 24 years. It's the home her parents built, and she purchased after her dad's passing in 2005. "My house is more than just a house to me," she said. "I wanted my mom, Connie, now 92 years old, to be able to stay with us, so when I bought the house she moved downstairs to the in-law apartment and I lived on the main level with my 2 children, Matt and Bailee."
Cutler is excited about these exterior renovations because that's the part of her home that always falls to the bottom of the list. She noted, "I would love for folks walking or driving by my house to say ooh, aah...so beautiful!"
